The Department of Biotechnology at Kamakhya Pemton College, in collaboration with the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC), successfully concluded a week-long Faculty Development Program on “Intellectual Property Rights (IPRs).” The valedictory ceremony, held at the Nongin Seminar Hall on January 16, 2024, marked the culmination of this insightful program. In the program, the Chief Guest for the occasion was Prof. Debananda Singh Ningthoujam from the Department of Biochemistry at Manipur University. Dr. W. Robindro Singh, the Principal of S.K. Women’s College, Nambol, graced the event as the Guest of Honour. Dr. W. Nimai Singh, the Principal of Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang, presided over the ceremony.
The valedictory ceremony included a welcome address by Dr. N. Brojendro Singh from the Department of Political Science, who is also an IQAC member. M. Kheroda Devi, the Program Coordinator and an IQAC member from the Department of Biotechnology, delivered the keynote address.
The esteemed Chief Guest and Guest of Honour shared their insights during the event, emphasizing the crucial role of intellectual property in the academic domain. Dr. W. Nimai Singh, in his role as the President of the ceremony, graced the program. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Dr. L. Herojit Singh, the IQAC coordinator from the Department of Economics.
The Department of Biotechnology expressed gratitude to the Directorate of University and Higher Education, Govt. of Manipur, for sponsoring this program. The valedictory ceremony provided a platform for intellectual exchange and a deeper understanding of the significance of Intellectual Property Rights in academic settings. The organizers were pleased with the active participation of faculty members, students, and other individuals keen on gaining valuable insights into the realm of Intellectual Property Rights.
