One more state Journalist Succumbed to Covid-19

Imphal, June 6:

After the demise of Veteran Journalist, S. Hemant, the former president of the All Manipur Working Journalist Union (AMWJU), another state journalist identified as Saikhom Shantikumar today succumbed to Covid-19 today morning.

Saikhom Shantikumar, age 51 , Wangkhei Tokpam Leikai, Imphal East has been serving as the Sub-Editor of Ireibak daily newspaper. Saikhom died at PGI Hospital Chandigarh after prolonged treatment today morning at around 11.30 am. He is survived by his wife and a son and a daughter.
Earlier, Chief Minister N Biren Singh had announced Journalists as Covid Warrior in view of the risk taken by them for dissemination of news to the general public.
