Imphal, Sept 18: One day awareness program on Gender and Criminal Justice System in Manipur was organized by Women Action for Development and Youth’s Forum for Protection of Human Rights yesterday at Advanced Coaching Centre, Uchiwa.
In the program resource persons like Mr. Moirangthem Kiran, Thoubal District’s Convenor Youth’s Forum for Protectionn of Human Rights presented a topic on Patriarchy and Reproductive Health, Ms. Babita Begum presented a topic on Gender, Ms. Nomita Takhenchnagbam, Program Coordinator Women Action for Development presented a Topic on Gender Base Violence, Ms. Soibam Bidya Volunteer WAD presented a Topic on Gender Role Access and Division of Labour, Mr. L Malemnganba, Presented a Topic on Women Empowerment and Mr. T Shadishkanta, Secretary YFPHR presented a Topic on Criminal Justice System in Manipur.
The Program was aimed to spread mass awareness on the root cause of the violence against women and children in Manipur so as the community takes initiatives to mitigate the crime against women and children at the grass root level. Also to inspire the young energetic youths to take major role to bring a transformation at the grass root level on the practices of Gender differences and the social practices.
The program was attended by students of Class IX – XII, Meira Paibis, local elders, etc.
