People coming back from outside the state by flight are mandatory to go for COVID-19 test. Those from Imphal West are tested using RAT at Changangei Community Hall and those from other district are tested at some other convenient places.
When this reporter was waiting for some relatives who returned from Delhi on October 6, 2020, a jam packd people who returned from Delhi were noticed gathering at the community hall waiting for their turn to test. Those in the community hall didn’t maintain social distancing. Unfortunately 4 among the returnee were tested positive through RAT , and as those tested negative through RAT needs to be tested again using RTPCR for confirmation , there are possibility that those tested negative may become positive as 4 of them were tested positive and there were no social distancing.
The matter was complained to the Health Directorate authority but none took it seriously and SOP was not followed at the Changangei Community Center.
