No letup in protest for ILP

Imphal, July 31: Students belonging to various educational institutes in the state are still continuing with their agitation without any letup for implementation of ILP system in the state by staging various forms of protest.

Students from four different schools namely Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School, John English School, Central Institute of Science and Keishamthong High School took part in the sit-in-protest staged at Keishamthong Keithel which was organized by Joint Committee ILP Students wing.

Co convener, JCILP Students Wing, Imphal West, K.C. James said to media that the students wing strongly condemn the high handedness of the police personnel to the students while staging democratic protest for implementation of ILP in the state. He said the student wing will continue the agitation util the demands are fulfilled.

On the other hand, Reformist Students’ Front (RSF) also organized a sit-in-protest at Yairipok Keithel. Students from various institutions of the area and local meira paibis took part in the protest. The protest while demanding implementation of ILP also demanded punishment of the police personnel who were involved to the brutal assault of students at DM college campus during a democratic protest.

The protest further demanded unconditional release of all those who are arrested during the protest for introduction Inner Line Permit System.

Similar protest was also staged at Lallambung, Kwakeithel, Takhelleikai, Naoremthong, Keishampat Thiyam Leikai etc.
