Imphal, June 2: In the wake of issues regarding the misuses PDS rations in the state today Social Welfare Minister, AK Mirabai has clarified that she has no hands in distribution of PDS rations to cardholders under the National Food Security Act (NFSA) of Patsoi Assembly Constituency.
Addressing at the inauguration of ‘Ema Pathoibi Shanglen’ at Ghari Awang Leikai organised by Ghari Awang Leima Shintha Lup as Chief Guest, Mirabai said that she has nothing to do with the distribution of PDS rations. In order to regulate proper distribution of the rations as per the guidelines of the NFSA, a Committee has been formed comprising members from local elected bodies and civil society organisations from the assembly constituency.
The allegation against her is unjustifiable as the Minister has entrusted the Committee to distribute the rations in a fair manner without any preferential treatment towards any of the card holder, said AK Mirabai.
So far ration shares of around 5000 cardholders have been arrived and waiting for approval from the side of Deputy Commissioner. The rations would be distributed to the cardholders soon.
The inaugural function of Ema Panthoibi Shanglen was presided over by Ng Nangjia Mangang, Former Maichou Purel, Sana Konung Royal Council and Expert Member, Meetei Mayek Expert Committee, Government of Manipur. While Moirangthem Ongbi Uthambi Devi, Zilla Parisad, 5-Changangei and Th Sumanta, Zilla Parishad, Patsoi as Guests of Honour.
