News reporting course started at Tamenglong

Tamenglong, May 3: A 7-Day Basic Course in News Reporting was opened today by Course Coordinator, State Institute of Journalism, DIPR Chongtham Noyon Singh at Tamenglong District Information Office.
The President, Tamenglong District Working Journalist’s Union Ramkung Pamei and the President of Manipur Hills Journalist’s Union Sothing Shimray were the President and Guest of Honour of the inaugural function.
The Course Coordinator who is also Dy. Director, IPR in his speech stated that the present training course was the third program conducted in the hill district of Manipur. In the last year such training program were conducted at Ukhrul and Senapati District Headquarter.  The 7 day basic course will be conducted in Churachandpur district Headquarter soon, he added.
He further appealed to the course participants to attend classes regularly so that they can learn more knowledges in the field of Journalism and mass communication.
In his Presidential address Ramkung said, it is a first of its kind in Tamenglong District. Though it is the beginning it will pave the way for revival of Journalism in the District, he said. He also appealed the department for organising such training program in the hill areas.
Altogether 26 youths are participating in the course which will concludes on 9th May, 2017.
