Indigenous People’s Association of Kangleipak (IPAK) today bows to support the demand for introduction of ILP in the state. Besides, the organisation will take up all possible measures to protect the traditional cultures, religions and identity of the state, said Sapamcha Jadumani, Chairman of the organisation while talking to media persons at Manipur Press Club, Imphal.Jadumani was also the founder president of FRIENDS which had spearheaded the ILP movement and was abolished recently.Sapamcha Jadumani further said that IPAK was formed to support the movement for implementation of ILP system in Manipur. IPAK doesn’t only aim to support the implementation of ILP system but also to protect the traditional cultures, religions and identity of the state, he added. Jadumani further lamented the invasion of cultures to the peoples of the state. He further blamed the government over its inability to implement ILP even after adopting resolution in the state assembly in 2013.Premkumar Pebam, General Secretary, IPAK, in his keynote address said that IPAK has been established with the objective to save and protect the indigenous people of the state. IPAK was formed under the supervision of Sapamcha Jadumani with the aim to implement Inner Line Permit System in the state. He further said that IPAK will protect the indigenous people of both the hill and valley region.
