Needs for ILP calls on World Indigenous Day

Peoples of the state calls for the need for introduction of Inner Line Permit System in the state for protection of the rights of the indigenous people on World Indigenous Day. The day is observed at THAU ground Imphal with Th. Iboyaima, Social Activist, Prof. Lokendra Arambam, RV Mingthing, former minister, Prof. Khullakpam Md. Abdul Hakim Shah, Mrs. Rose Mangshi and Ibotombi Khuman  of the Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System as dignitaries on the dais.As a part o the observance a motor bike rally was flagged off by the Convenor of the JCILP at 9.30 am. Over 100 motor bikes took part in the rally which is being organised by the student committee of the JCILP. The rally will spread awareness campaign about the importance of ILP for the state of Manipur at Imphal West, Imphal East, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Chandel districts.Speaking on the occasion Co-convenor of the JCILP Somorendro Thokchom said that the committee along with the people of the state will continue the protest for introduction of the ILP without any letup. He also appealed identify the indigenous people and take up every necessary works to protect the rights of the people.
