Naga CSOs visit Makhan Liangmai Village, express solidarity with families of six slain men

A delegation of Naga Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), led by the Tangkhul Naga Long (TNL), visited Makhan Liangmai Naga Village in Kangpokpi district today and expressed solidarity with the families of the six Liangmai Naga men who were abducted and later found brutally murdered by suspected Kuki militants some days back.

The solidarity programme was held at the village Baptist Church and attended by more than 100 people, including community leaders, village elders, family members of the deceased and representatives of various Naga organisations.

During the visit, the delegation met the bereaved families and conveyed their condolences. As a gesture of support, the CSOs provided cash assistance and essential commodities to the affected families.

Addressing the gathering, leaders of the Naga civil society organisations said the visit was undertaken to stand with the victims’ families during their time of grief and to demonstrate the unity of the Naga community in the face of the tragedy. They stressed the need for Naga communities to remain united and collectively pursue justice for the victims.

The CSO leaders stated that the loss of the six Liangmai Naga men had deeply affected the wider Naga community and called for continued solidarity and mutual support among all Naga tribes during the difficult period.

The visit forms part of ongoing efforts by Naga civil society organisations to support the bereaved families and reaffirm their commitment to seeking justice while ensuring that the concerns of the affected community are collectively addressed.

Participants at the programme also observed a moment of remembrance for the deceased and expressed hope that justice would be delivered while peace and harmony are maintained in the region.
