N Biren calls on students and teachers to maintain discipline

Imphal, Sept 24: “Discipline is the foundation of every civilization, without discipline no changes in the society could be brought”, said N Biren Singh, MLA of Heingang AC during closing ceremony of first college week celebration, 2016 of Liberal College at Luwangsangbam.
Speaking as the chief guest of today’s function, N Biren said that government knows that aided college teachers did not get the expected salary which they could not run their family but the service of the teacher is highly commendable despite the fact that they got only a small salary in returns.
More knowledge can be shared to the students only if the government is able to ensure a secure life of the teachers, he added.
Chief Guest also said that using schools and colleges for political benefit by the politicians is one of the biggest disappointments of the society. We must stop such kind of politics way of running schools and college, he added.
N. Biren also said that Liberal college, not only being one of the oldest aided college in Manipur, has also maintain the integrity with the enrollment of students from different part of the state including far from hill districts.
Despite being an aided college having maximum number of students, the college will now have a hostel to accommodate students coming from hill districts.
The chief guest further said that the concern department has taken up process for the upliftment of the contract teachers of the aided colleges including those of the Liberal college to engage a Physical Heath teacher as we need better health for better study.
L Nimaichand Singh, Secretary G.B, N Manichandra Singh, Chairman G.B, W Ibechaobi Devi, Principal of Liberal College and Wahengbam Silvia Devi attended as guest of honour, president and moderator of today’s function respectively.
The function was organised by Students’ Union of Liberal College, Luwangsangbam at Liberal College Multipurpose Hall.
