Imphal, Mar 17:
In a dedicated display of philanthropy and community spirit, the Makaam Youth Organisation (MYO) continues its noble mission by extending educational support to deserving students and promoting vocational training. Under the initiative named ‘Makaam kamthao di kho’, MYO sponsored the education of three high school students and facilitated training for an aspiring Automobile Mechanic.
Moreover, MYO volunteers demonstrated their commitment to civic duty by undertaking a comprehensive cleaning and beautification drive at Heipou Jadonang Park in Keishampat, Imphal. This park holds profound significance within the Makaam community, as it honors the legacy of Haipou Jadonang, a revered figure symbolizing social, cultural, and political unity.
Haipou Jadonang’s legacy resonates deeply with the Makaam people, as he valiantly championed the cause of independence and self-determination against colonial powers, particularly the British. His martyrdom stands as a testament to the unwavering spirit of resistance and resilience among the Makaam populace.
The endeavours of MYO serve not only as acts of altruism but also as tributes to the enduring spirit of Haipou Jadonang, inspiring the community to uphold his ideals of unity, empowerment, and social progress.
