IT News
CCpur, March 17:

Following the announcement of the General Election 2024 schedule by the Election Commission of India, the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) has been swiftly put into effect across the Churachandpur district. During a press conference held yesterday at the Mini-Secretariat complex, Additional District Election Officer Saurabh Yadav emphasized the necessity of strict adherence to the MCC until the conclusion of the election process.
Citizens are advised against carrying more than Rs. 50,000/- in cash, as larger amounts could potentially be used for voter inducement or bribery. The possession of Narcotic Drugs and Illicit Liquor of any kind is strictly prohibited. To combat illicit activities, specialized teams such as Flying Squad Teams and Static Surveillance Teams have been established by the District Administration and the Police Department.
Samuel Lhungdim, the District Nodal Officer for the Model Code of Conduct, encouraged citizens to utilize the c-VIGIL app for reporting MCC violations. This app allows users to upload pictures, videos, or audio recordings while automatically detecting their location.
To facilitate media coverage of the election process and other related activities, a dedicated media center has been set up at Room No. GF-8, Mini Secretariat Building, Tuibong.
Yadav also announced that special polling stations would be arranged for displaced voters at relief camps. He urged all eligible individuals to make use of these facilities by submitting their particulars in ID forms available at the DEO office, ARO office, and concerned SDOs.
The Additional DEO further stated that the District Administration has established Seizure of Cash Committees and Monitoring Teams at various locations. Citizens are urged to report any violations to Sector Officers, Special Executive Magistrates, Flying Squad Teams, or Surveillance Teams for effective control over such activities.
He appealed to all residents for their cooperation to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the Lok Sabha election in the district.
