MUSU serious on DESAM’s inference at Manipur University affairs

Imphal, Oct 25: Manipur University Students’ Union (MUSU) today expressed serious note to the interference by students body DESAM to the University affairs on the issue of naming new Boys’ Hostel of the University.
General Secretary of MUSU, Haobijam Birbal, in a statement warned the students’ body from taking advantage in the upcoming election of the MUSU. It said the MUSU is purely a student body of the University and is not driven by any ideology like DESAM.
The statement said that MUSU was not informed about the naming of the newly constructed 5th Hotel as Netaji Subash Chandra Bose. As convention boys hostel of the University use to name to the name of the Hills in Manipur and Girls’ hostel are name with those names of flowers in the state. After matter has been brought up to the notice of the University authority the engineering cell sent labourers and removed the inauguration stone and postponed the date for inauguration of the hostel for time being.  Later, after meeting the VC , it was agreed to name the Hostel as Kheba Ching Boys’ Hostel, the statement said.
