MUA calls 48 hours National Highway total bandh

Imphal, Sept 16: In protest against the passing of 3 Anti tribal bills, ADC Chairman Re-election and forming exile ADC Chandel at Imphal, the Maring Uparup Assembly (MUA) call 48 bandh on National Highway i.e. from Moreh to Imphal starting from midnight on 15th September 2015 to 18th September 2015 sharp.
The Maring body further said that further forms of agitation will be taken up if the Government
continues to discriminate the people of Chandel District.
The MUA appealed  the state Government to cancel the re-elected Chairman of ADC Chandel which is based at Imphal. MUA also condemned the Mr. Darshingso CEO ADC Chandel and DC Chandel who are responsible for creating confusion in Chandel. The two officers will held responsible for any towards incidence arising out of ADC Chandel MUA patiently observing their activities since they assumed the office and hence this time MUA will not tolerate their insincerity towards Maring, the statement said. It further added that Maring Uparup Assembly condemned the exile ADC Chandel which is functioning at Imphal.
The Maring Uparup Assembly also reiterated its stand of recognizing Ksm. Mathew Maring as Chairman of ADC Chandel who was elected on 9th September 2015 who is also to function at Chandel District and cannot recognized ADC functioning at Imphal.
The Maring Uparup Assembly also objected the 3 government Bills passed by Manipur Legislative Assembly on 31st August 2015 terming it as anti tribal Bills. The MUA also shared the grievance at the bereaved families of 9 tribal martyrs who have sacrifices their valuable life in protecting tribal rights and ancestral land.
