MPP extends support to JCILPS

Imphal, May 5: Manipur People’s Party (MPP) today extended their support to the demand for implementation of ILPS in the state.

The political party is the first to response to the call for support by the JCILPS. Speaking to media persons, president of MPP Sovakiran said that the MPP always stand for the protection of the identity and territorial integrity of the state.

“The protection of territorial boundary is always the agenda of the MPP since it’s establishment in 1968″, Sovakiran said. He added that the MPP has always stood for implementation of ILPS in Manipur and the matter was already mentioned in the election manifesto of 2012.

Sovakiran said that MPP will support ILPS movement in the state and will participant in the 42 hours public curfew called by JCILPS.

He mocked the state government by saying that the 3 Bills passed by the Manipur state assembly turns out to be a still born baby. The Bills were passed on August 31, 2015.

Sovakiran further throw the balls to Congress and BJP who are in power at State and Center respectively. He said both congress and BJP do not want to introduce ILPS system in the state to protect the identity of the people of the state.
