President of Manipur People’s Party (MPP), N. Sovakiran today expressed his disappointment with the compensation policy of the state government.
Addressing the media in connection with the 47th foundation day of MPP at its office in Imphal, N. Sovakiran said that the Government acts in a delaying manner when the party approached to it to give compensation to the family members of its former Vice-President H. Manisana who was killed by unknown persons on the 13th of Nov, 2013. However, the government expedites the procedure to give compensation to the victims whenever some migrant workers or non-locals die in bomb blast. He asked the government that whether the lives of migrant workers are more valuable than the lives of indigenous people of Manipur.
During the interaction with media persons, Sovakiran also stressed on the importance of regional party in the 21st century. He said that the MPP was founded on the same of day in 1968 and it is the 3rd most influential regional party in India. He also said that even though there are innumerable national parties in Manipur, none of them are working for the interests of Manipur.
The observance of 47th foundation day was also attended by Dr. L Chandramani Singh, Former Deputy CM, O. Jugindro Singh, Vice-President, MPP, M. Amutombi Singh, Vice-President, MPP and N. Ojit Singh, Vice-President, MPP.
