MPP has accepted its candidate’s defeat in the Hiyanglam Assembly constituency by-election even as the poll result is yet to declare.Result of the by-election which was held on Oct. 17 will be declared tomorrow. Counting will begin at 9am tomorrow at the election counting hall at Thoubal DC office. All together 5 candidates are in the fray and fate of each candidate are sealed in Electronic voting machine.Hiyanglam Assembly constituency has a total of 23,730 and out of this 94.5% had cast their vote in 34 polling booths.Speaking to media persons today, President of the MPP, Sovakiran said that 2 MLAs of the ruling congress party were seen at each makeship election camp for congress party set up near the 34 polling booths.Sovakiran was giving hints on how the MLAs of the congress party have been utilizing money power to get vote of the candidate. He said if the MLAs had taken the kind of interest in the Imphal-Jiri road, the condition would have been better by now.The MPP also slammed the ECI over its in ability to take up any action even though there are evidences of some political party distributing money to voters. Vice President of the party L. Ajit said that media report had highlighted about the acceptance of money by a voter and ECI should take up effective measures to safeguard their guideline to ensure free and fair election.Meanwhile, MPP president Sovakiran also accepted the falls of the party in the recent times. He said the MPP will discuss in dept about the status of the party with veteran politician and will mark to march toward and to fight in the upcoming election scheduled on 2017.
