Villagers oppose allotment of land for construction of TV and Film institute at Chingkhu Hill

Chingkhu Khundrakpam Loukol Lup today opposed the allotment of land for establishment of TV and Film Institute at Chingkhu Hill and Khundrakpam area.Mention may be made that, the Chief Minister Okram Ibobi has reportedly written a letter to the Union  Minister of Information and broad casting, Prakash Javedkar stating that the Govt. of Manipur has allotted 184.73 acres of land for establishment of TV and Film institute at Chingkhu hill and Khundrakpam area.Speaking to media person at Manipur Press Club today afternoon members of the Chingkhu Khundrakpam Loukol Kanba Lup said that the said allotted land are patta land of the villagers and the villagers will oppose any move to acquire the agricultural land. The representative further said that there are no khash land in the said area as stated by the Chief Minister. He also said some Govt. official had come to the area and conducted soil testing for construction of the said institute without the consent of the villager. He further threaten to launch several form of agitation if the Govt. do not withdraw the decision.
