MPCC demands withdrawal of Citizenship (Amendment ) Bill, 2016 and re-affirms stands for protection Manipur’s integrity

Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) once more reaffirmed its the issue of Framework Agreement signed between the Government of India and the NSCN-IM. A protest meeting held today at Congress Bhavan , BT road resolved to demand for protection of the Integrity of Manipur saying that it would never accept any division in territory, Administrative, Financial, Cultural and Politically, etc.
Today’s protest meeting graced by MPCC President, TN Haokip, Leader of the Opposition O Ibobi and Former President of MPCC Gaikhangam also resolved to urge the Central Government and all the leadership of Political Parties to safeguard the interest of the state of Manipur.
On the issue of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill- 2016, the MPCC while opposing the Bill decided to submit memorandum to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) for withdrawal of Citizenship (Amendment) Bill, 2016.
The MPCC has also resolved to submit a memorandum to the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister of India for immediate withdrawal of the Bill.
