In tragic road accident happened at around 9 pm yesterday, son and mother got killed while they were on their way to their home carrying the dead body of the father. The daughter and brother in law of the deceased are undergoing treatment at Raj Medicity Hospital.
The accident occurred at Tendongyang in Sekmai when one heavy vehicle truck bearing registration number MN/01/3934 coming from the opposite direction collided one diesel auto bearing registration number MN/0L/9530 where 8 family members were carrying the dead body.
Talking to Imphal Times, a relative of the deceased said that yesterday at around 10 am Huirom Rakesh (43), son of Late Huirom Moba of Sekmai Parao was taken to RIMS hospital due to an illness but succumbed to his illness at the hospital itself.
Huirom Ongbi Kanao (35 yrs), wife of Late Huirom Rakesh hired a diesel auto to take back the dead body of her husband at their residence at Sekmai Parao.
The tragic accident happened when they were on their way back to the home.
Huirom Ongbi Kanao (35 yrs), and her 9 months old son died on spot while the daughter namely Huirom Priya (15yrs) and Huirom Vicky (25yrs) were taken to Raj Medicity and are undergoing treatment. Their condition is stated to be critical.
The deceased family and large number of people in Sekmai area carried out a protest by blocking the roads in front of Sekmai Police Station demanding punishment of the truck driver.
