Imphal, April 13:

With a view to imparting some humanity services to the needy and down trodden, the inmates of the Langol Old Age Home have been given some daily needs by Thounaojam Chaoba Memorial Charitable Trust, Singjamei Thongam Leikai, Imphal West District, Manipur today.
Handing over the aids to the inmates, Thounaojam Romen Singh, the Managing Trustee of the Trust said that such older persons did a lot for the welfare of their families and the Society as well during their early age. They should be honoured for the deeds they did as their youngsters. They cared for their children with full care so as to become their wards perfect. When their wards become perfect, their return to serve their parents is now questionable. It is very unfortunate, Romen Singh added.
He said that such older persons who did a lot for the welfare of the Society are reeling under severe conditions in the Old Age Homes. It is very pitiful. The Government like other State Governments should take up the initiative for their livelihood and help them in their day-today lives also.
Romen Singh further said that a Monthly Pension will be given to all the inmates staying in the Old Age Home so that their lives can become somewhat easier in the days to come. It will be given from the next month onwards. He said that all these things will be done only from his pocket money not taking any help of others. If anybody wants to help him in doing so, they should help them instead of helping him, he suggested. It should be the right path. He said that helping the needy in the time of need is a must as the saying goes service to humanity is the service to God, only then God will pour them full of blessings.
Romen Singh said that the sons and daughters should serve their parents in such a way. Only when they serve their parents in the right manner, they will succeed in every fields they do. This will be the blessing of God. Humanity service is the utmost service. No service is as good as such service, he remarked.
Replying to media queries, Romen Singh said that he will further help to other Children and Old Age Homes locating in different parts of the State for both hills and plains. He will not take any help from the Government or any other philanthropist Organisations or so. He does so only to help the needy ones and not to get any benefit from the Government or the public.
Romen Singh further said that the Initiative – Chief Minster gi Sotharabasing gi Tengbang taken up by the State Government to help such needy persons is a good initiative but the Inmates staying at the Old Age Home is not getting any benefit so far despite many requests. It is very unfortunate, he remarked.
Oinam Mangi Singh, Founder of Langol Old Age Home, Chingakham Sundar Singh and Smt Thounaojam Ibemhal Devi were attended among others in the function.
