Amid growing anger, protesters stormed the residences of several Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) and ministers, accusing them of failing to address the escalating violence. Hundreds of people gathered outside the residences of Sagolband MLA RK Imo, Patsoi MLA Sapam Kujakeshwar, Keishamthong MLA Sapam Nishikanta, Wangkhei MLA Thangjam Arun, MLA of Naoriya Pakhnag Lakpa, Kebi, MLA of Uripok AC Khwairakpam Raghumani, MLA of Wangoi AC Loken, MLA of Langthabal AC Karam Shyam and state cabinet ministers Sapam Ranjan and Thongam Biswajit Singh.
At Patsoi MLA Sapam Kujakeshwar’s residence, protesters set vehicles on fire and clashed with police personnel. A fire brigade was sent to extinguish the blaze but was blocked by the mob. RK Imo’s residence also came under attack, with a portion of his property damaged and vandalized. Supporters of the MLA managed to douse the fire before it spread further.
Meanwhile, the office of The Sangai Express, a local daily owned by MLA Sapam Nishikanta, was partially vandalized by protesters. The Editors’ Guild of Manipur (EGM) and All Manipur Working Journalists’ Union (AMWJU) condemn the attack at the office of the Sangai Express.
