An active member of the proscribed KYKL outfit, Karam Satrajit Singh, 45, who is the nephew of MLA Langthabal AC, Karam Shyam was arrested by teams of CDO Imphal West from Singjamei Supermarket at 6.10 pm on Saturday.
Karam Satrajit, son of K Chaoba Singh of Chajing Karam Awang Leikai has been arrested with one 9 mm pistol marked as ‘Beretta USA Corp’ along with one magazine loaded with 7 live rounds. A sum of Rs 60,000 (extortion money) was seized from his possession.
Satrajit disclosed that he started working for the KYKL organization in June 2023 through one Mr. Robert, presently staying in Myanmar.
Under the direction of his commander, he demanded huge amounts of money from private establishments and the general public for their party funds. A mobile phone and one wallet containing one Aadhaar card were also seized from his possession.
Satrajit along with the seized articles will be handed over to Singjamei Police Station for further necessary action.
