Wangoi Assembly Constituency MLA O Lukhoi whose disqualification order by the tribunal of the Speaker of the Manipur Legislative Assembly has been stayed by a ruling of the Manipur High Court was seen attending the state legislative session today.
MLA O Lukhoi was disqualified along with two other Trinamool Congress MLA Kh Joykishan and Th. Bishwajit by the Speaker’s Tribunal on May 27, 2015. The verdict of the Speaker’s Tribunal was challenged by O, Lukhoi and in a landmark ruling of the Manipur High Court, the disqualification order was stayed.
Interestingly, soon after the Speakers’ Tribunal announced the verdict, the three disqualified three Trinamool Congress MLAs joined the BJP. As for the two MLAs Kh Joykishan and Th. Bishwajit they choose to re-contest the election. But as for O. Lukhoi, whose disqualification has been revoked and who is attending the session today it still remain as big question on what political party he is representing in the house.
