Imphal, Sept 2:
MLA Joykishan launched a scathing attack on Security Advisor Kuldiep Singh, questioning the effectiveness of his advisories to the Director General of Police (DGP). “Perhaps I don’t fully understand the modus operandi of the security forces, but what exactly is our Security Advisor advising the DGP?” Joykishan remarked, expressing his confusion about the guidance provided by the Security Advisor and the DGP’s subsequent actions. He further questioned, “Is the plan to allow four or five people to die every day over the course of several days, or to provoke public uprisings and control them by firing tear gas is what they consider bringing solution?”
Despite his strong critique, Joykishan reaffirmed his faith in his party, the BJP, as well as in the Prime Minister and Chief Minister. He highlighted the Prime Minister’s commitment to resolving the crisis within 100 days, stating, “I have full trust in the Prime Minister and will wait to see what actions are taken within these 100 days.”
The MLA made these comments while speaking to the media at Shija Hospital, where he was visiting Impact TV reporter Musuk Elangbam, who sustained splinter injuries in a drone attack by Kuki militants at Koutruk the previous day.
Recalling the BJP’s ideology—”Nation first, Party second, and individual last”—Joykishan appealed to all BJP members to unite in saving the nation. “We have direct evidence of attacks on the nation by armed Kuki militants, and it is our duty to save the nation first,” he asserted. Through the media, Joykishan urged the Chief Minister to take concrete action to protect the nation.
Expressing his anger over the recent killing of a young mother, Joykishan noted that this was not an isolated incident, citing another recent fatality caused by militant gunfire. He also highlighted ongoing attacks at Sinam village, questioning the deployment of a large number of security forces in the state, ostensibly to control the violence. “Since the outbreak of violence, shootings have occurred in fewer than 10 locations—everyone knows this. Why isn’t the Security Advisor deploying forces in these villages? Perhaps the tactic is to let people die one by one. This attitude is unacceptable. As politicians, we do not believe in bringing peace through killing. Peace must be achieved without any loss of life.”
In a period when the public saw hope for restoring peace following the Chief Minister’s announcement of stern measures to end the violence, armed militants have resumed attacks on villages using drones. MLA Joykishan emphasized the seriousness of these drone attacks, noting that such tactics are typically seen only in wars between nations. “Why aren’t these militants, who are using drones to drop bombs, being considered anti-Indian? The Indian government should immediately investigate this matter and identify who is behind these drone attacks on civilians. Action must be taken against these militants,” he urged.
As a BJP MLA, Joykishan vowed to suggest to the Chief Minister that action be taken against these militants. “Yesterday’s drone bomb attack is a concrete example that these militants’ main agenda is to destroy India. Everyone knows that these militants are attacking Indian citizens using drones. So why do the Indian security forces remain silent, even after knowing this?” Joykishan questioned, calling for immediate and decisive action.
