Miscreants vandalize Birmangol Students’ Union room

Unknown miscreants vandalized the office room of the Birmangol College students’ Union at the college premises early today morning. The matter was came to light after the members of the student union went to their room at around 7.30 am when they came to the college for opening the college which they had locked in connection with the agitation for fielding of a regular principal.  The student body had even imposed 3 hours blockade along the Imphal-Ukhrul road on February 14 in the matter. Student body DESAM had extended support to the demands of the Brmangol College and had asked the concern authority to fulfill the demand.
Speaking to media persons representatives of the college students’ body said that they had agreed to open the college from today after an understanding was brought during a meeting with the DC Imphal East. Later after the meeting the students’ body along with the representatives of DESAm, local club members and Meira Paibis of the locality convened a meeting and resolved to open the college.
College students’ representative suspects hands of the college teachers to the vandalizing of their room.
He said until and unless the government authority arrest the culprits responsible for vandalizing of the college students’ union room, the union will launch serious form of agitation. He further said that union has left with no option to shut the college until the culprits are arrested.
