A Sit-in-protest was held today at Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai by locals and Meira Paibis of Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai against the firing of gun shots at the residence of Dr. Salam Nongthon an orthopaedic surgeon. The protest was organised by Social Development Organisation Club (SDO) and the local Meira Paibis.
Unknown miscreants fire the gun shot on place on the 17th of January 2019 at the gate of Dr. Nongthon at around 7.15 pm. Earlier too, miscreants had blank fire on January 15.
Speaking to media persons MK Ellawar President of SDO club said that they strongly condemn the firing at the doctor’s residence. He added there may be personal reasons but firing at the residence in residential area creates a state of turmoil and panic to the family and the residence of the. Talks should be initiated to solve if there is any misunderstanding. He also appealed not to repeat such act in the future.
And it was also informed that no prior demands or threats were received to the doctor.
