Imphal, Dec 11: Tension erupts at Urup Litan Makhong today over an alleged rape of 7 years old minor girl by her tuition teacher for a month – family members of the girl and locals stormed in to destroy the house of the accused, however Irilbung Police came on time and controlled the mob.
In a shocking incident, a minor girl of 7 years old has been reportedly raped for almost two months by her tuition teacher identified as Nongthombam Varun (35), s/o. N. Achoubi (80) of Urup Litan Makhong. According to family members, the girl along with her younger brother had started going for tuition classes to Varun from 10th Oct, 2014. Varun had continuously raped the girl and threatened to kill her if she revealed it to anyone. The girl had refused to go for tuition and started complaining that she was feeling sick but the parents thought she was acting lazy to study hence forced her to go for the classes. The incident came to light when the girl’s younger brother told their parents about Varun’s un-natural behaviour. The girl’s brother told his parents that Varun had bitten her lips and then his sister revealed what Varun had continuously done to her.
Parents of the girl filed a report to Porompat Women Police station on last Tuesday, 09th Dec, 2014 and the culprit has been arrested. The enraged locals of Urup Litan Makhong today thronged in at the residence of Varun and started dismantling the house at around 12.00 pm. A team of Irilbung Police came at the spot on time and controlled the mob.
