Mera Chaorel Houba celebrated with traditional fervour

Imphal, Sept 21: Mera Chaorel Houba was celebrated today with traditional gaiety and religious fervour in the state. The main function was held at Sanamahi Temple, Haying Khongbal, 1st Battalion Manipuri Rifles complex, Imphal.
Health and Family Welfare Minister Mr L Jayentakumar, who attended the celebration as chief guest said the State Government is planning to upgrade this religious festival as a State level festival.
“As an initial stage, the State Government has announced the festival as a State Holiday”, Jayentakumar said..
He added that the people of the State at large number being drawn towards this religion day by day. It marks the popularity of the religion, he added. Mr Jayentakumar said that a holy book regarding this religion will be published very soon and it will be made available to the public at large number. He seeks public cooperation in this regard.
