Imphal, July 15:
The Meitei Alliance has strongly condemned the recent attack in Jiribam district, which resulted in the death of a CRPF jawan and injuries to three other security personnel. The incident occurred during a joint search operation conducted by the 20th Battalion CRPF and Manipur Police, which was ambushed by Chin-Kuki cross-border terrorists.
The alliance expressed its deepest condolences to the family of martyr Ajoy Kumar Jha and wished a speedy recovery to the injured personnel.
The press release by the Meitei Alliance further said, “It may be remembered that there had been multiple such attacks on security forces in the past by Chin Kuki cross border terrorists during the current Manipur mayhem which erupted when they started ethnic cleansing of Meiteis in Kuki dominated areas of Manipur. On another such pre-planned attack, the Manipur CM’s advanced security convoy to Jiribam was ambushed on 10th June, 2024, seriously injuring security personnel. Martyr Ajoy Kumar Jha was the 12th security personnel killed by these cross border terrorist groups. The lack of satisfying actions by the Indian Government to suppress such cross border terrorism despite security personnel being killed, lives and livelihoods of innocent citizens are mercilessly destroyed and more than 60,000 people are languishing in relief camps under sub-human conditions for the last more than 14 months is really upsetting, to say the least. The lack of actions further emboldens these terrorist groups to commit such heinous crimes without fear of the law, for instance, leaked videos of the alleged killers of martyr Ajoy Kumar Jha is already circulating over the social media but they remain at large, free to commit more attacks.”
