Meira Paibis urges for shifting of Army camp from Koirengei airfield

Heingang kendra Apunba Meira Paibi Lup today lashes the occupation of the erstwhile Koirengei air field by Indian Army. In a public meeting organised by the meira Paibi Lup at Manipur press club, various speakers said that the erstwhile airfield could have been used for parking of the heavy vehicles which are found parked at the roadside of the National Highway. Many a times these heavy vehicles parked at the roadside had created traffic congestion and often lead to various road accidents. Some of the speakers during the meeting said that as the Army has occupied the airfield totally occupied, the farmers of the area too face inconveniences in going to the fields. The meeting later resolved to urge the government for shifting of the Army to some other appropriate places.
