Meira Paibis stage protests in Thoubal during PM Modi’s visit

Protests were staged at various locations in Thoubal district on Saturday by Meira Paibis in connection with the one-day visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Manipur.
Sit-in demonstrations with placards were held at Sangaiyumfam, Lilong Arapti, Thoubal Leisangthem, Nongpok Sekmai and Khangabok Lamlong Keithel. The protestors raised slogans such as “Narendra Modi Go Back,” “Remove AFSPA from Manipur,” “Stop Divide and Rule Policy of India Government” and “Bring Solution to Manipur Crisis.”
Also, the Environment Protection Committee, a joint body of 14 villages in Nongpok Sekmai, also organised a sit-in protest at Nongpok Sekmai, led by Meira Paibi Emas, in response to the Prime Minister’s visit.
