Media persons wrath over the conduct of MR personnel

A group of enraged reporters have returned from spot without covering news after they were detained by Manipur Police near 2nd MR battalion complex here today.
According to report, the media persons were trying to meet family members of Pampha Rai (32), d/o Dul Bahadur Rai of 2nd MR Family Line, who was found dead inside a hotel room on Saturday.
However, the reporters were allegedly detained for hours by security personnel deployed at the front gate of 2nd MR. After waiting for around 2 hours the security at the 2nd MR Battalion gate allowed the reporters to get inside the MR Family Line, however they were again detained asking them to wait for permission from Faumei Gonglin (MPS), CO 2nd MR.
The reporters who were enraged by the conduct of the security personnel returned without meeting with the members of the deceased family.
After knowing the misconduct of MR personnel and sending out of reporters without letting them to interact with Pampha Rai’s family members, tenants of 2nd MR Family Line have blocked the road connecting North AOC to Chingmeirong Khongnang Ani Karak in the afternoon in between 2 to 3.30 pm .
It is also reported that the protestors have engaged in a verbal feud with police personnel.
Later, reporters were invited to meet the family members of Pampha Rai at around 3.30 PM today. But they were detained again while adding fuel to the fuming reporters. Annoyed with the conduct of the MR personnel, the group of reporter has returned without meeting the victim’s family members.
