Media is a bridge between Govt. and people – Bishwajit

Imphal, Sept. 16: Information and Public relation Minister Th. Bishwajit today said that media is the bridge between the people and government and all people working in the field should work with sincerity. Speaking on the 43th Foundation Day of All Manipur Working Journalist Th. Bishwajit said that roles of journalist are very important. He said pointing the wrongs of the government is the duty of the media and the government will try correct base of the report in media. he also appealed the journalist to follow ethics and to deliver correct useful information to the public. The Information Minister also assured to take up every possible measure for the welfare of the media fraternity.
Law Minister L. Jayantakumar who also attended the foundation day as guest of honour appealed the media fraternity to be aware of the legal perspectives while doing report. He said freedom of speech provided by the constitution should be well utilised and should not be misused for personnel gain. On the other hand the Law Minister said that he will organised legal awareness programme for the journalist if the journalists desired so with the help of the Manipur State Legal Aid Clinic.
MLA Sapam Ranjan also recalls on the roles of media in the society.
Wangkhemcha Shyamjai, President of AMWJU urged the government to speed up the promised welfare programme for the journalist of the state.On the occasion veteran journalists, former office bearers of AMWJU were honoured.
