The Manipur Youth League (MAYOL) has voiced serious apprehensions regarding the integrity of the electoral process in Manipur, particularly in light of recent Lok Sabha polls. Addressing the media, MAYOL representatives accused the ruling party, BJP, of orchestrating various malpractices, acts of violence, and disruptions witnessed at polling stations across the state.
Allegations levelled against the BJP include instances of booth capturing and proxy voting, which MAYOL contends are indicative of broader societal issues within Manipur. These alleged actions, viewed as symptomatic of larger challenges, have raised significant concerns regarding the fairness and transparency of the electoral process.
In its statement, MAYOL emphasized the detrimental impact of such malpractices on the democratic process, labeling them as regressive and harmful. The organization has called upon citizens to recognize the seriousness of these issues and to actively work towards preventing similar incidents from occurring in future elections.
