Maoist warns extortionists misusing RTI

Imphal, July 18: Armed group Maoist Communist Party Manipur (MCPM) today cautions self style activists which make their living by misusing the Right to Information Act (RTI).
In a press statement the outfit said that the so called self style activists are blackmailers using RTI are criminals and the outfit will have no mercy to such criminal.
The statement hinted out the possibility of these criminals conspiring the colonial master of India to exploit the RTI by misusing it to earn easy money for personal purpose. 
Terming those so called activists as social parasite the outfit said that it will start to monitor such activities.
Stating that RTI has been an important inevitable treasure of human society the Maoist said that this act has been an essential and inevitable strategic means for information, communication and transparency.
Maoist Communist Party, Manipur said that they can’t remain as silent spectator to the kind of exploitation and misused of RTI to earn easy and black money by trading it.
“There is no other serious crime than that RTI is misused as a threat or blackmailing to the person whom he seeks for the information in question by converting it into profit making business commodity” the statement added.
It was stated that those RTI activists who are serving sincerely with responsibility and sacrifice to disclose the truth by opening the curtain of wrong sides of the government and any of the kind, are extended warm thankfulness and respect.
However, it is quite evident that one Mr. Ayekpam Keshorjit s/o, A. Kunjo of Haobam Marak Irom Leikai under Singjamei PS, Imphal West District has been blackmailing various departments of Manipur government using RTI act as a tool. The outfit further added the said person is blackmailing FCS (at present -CAF & PD), PWD, Horticulture, Agriculture and Fishery, since 2008 till now by asking different questions stage by stage and grabbing money after the officials were threatened to disclose their mistakes, instead of doing the right thing.
Declaring A. Keshorjit as Black-mailer, the outfit said the said individual is restricted to do or to participate in any of the social work and local organizations. The statement also stated that those individuals earning money misusing RTI will not be spared.
As for A. Keshorjit the outfit said that if he fail to tender apologize at the earliest, he will be declared as National reactionary and serious decision will be resolved upon him by the party.
Maoist Communist party Manipur statement also stated that the outfit is monitoring the activities of some of the RTI activists and this misdeed will be disclosed soon and declared as National reactionary, the statement added.
