Maoist Communist Party today in a press statement said that the colonial government is responsible for Maoist movement in the state.
The press statement released by Comrade Nonglen Meitei, Secretary Publicity and Propaganda of Maoist Communist Party, Manipur said that the Maoist was born in Manipur after the escape of Sapamcha Kangleipal, the former president of Manipur Forward Youth Front (MAFYF). The statement further greeted the people of the state and volunteers of MAFYF.
It continued that the force detention of Sapamcha Kangleipal in response of the democratic movements of MAFYF sow the seed of Maoist Movement in the state. Prior to this MAFYF took part in every issues in a democratic way. However, the government treated the democratic protesters as cowards. Due to this Maoist Communist Party resorted to launch arm struggle against the government.
