IT News,
Imphal, May 19:

Manipur University, the state’s largest and only central university, has dishonoured the Right to Information Act (RTI) 2005 by failing to provide information on employees appointments made between January 1, 2019, and November 30, 2021.
This is not the first time Manipur University has violated the RTI. Failure to provide employee details smells fishy in the recruitment process.
Dhanachnadra, an RTI activist, sought information from the Central Public Information Officer (CPIO) of the Manipur University to provide a list of employees appointed from March 1, 2019, to November 30, 2021, along with their respective recruitment notices, date of written examination, date of interview, and appointment orders.
Instead of providing all the sought information, the Deputy Registrar of Manipur University, Dr. R.K. Joteen Singh provided only one recruitment notice dated May 27, 2019, and one interview schedule notice. When there are records of 30 such recruitment notifications in 2020.
Dhanachandra told Imphal Times that he is aware that a number of contract and regular employees were recruited between the dates specified and that Manipur University should provide information on regular and contract employees appointed in Groups A, B, C, and D.
