Imphal, July 1: The ever biggest India’s international exhibition entitled Textiles India 2017 was inaugurated yesterday by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his home state Gujarat at the Mahtma Gandhi Mandir, Gandhinagar at 2.10pm with participation of all textiles stakeholders of the country and registration of around 20000 foreign and national buyers. The Manipur Apex Handloom Weavers and Handicrafts Artisans CS Ltd(AWAS), Paona Bazar, Imphal, along with the Chanu Creations, Imphal Handlooms are participating from Manipur, In his speech in the inaugural function which were presented by Smriti Zubin Irani, Union Mi sister of Textiles , Shri Ajay Tamta, Minister of State for Textiles , Prime Minister Narendra Modi reiterated his India’s Textiles formula “ From Farm to Fibre, Fibre to Fabric, Fabric to Fashion, and Fashion to Foreign” and insisted upon the nation’s entrepreneurs, farms, weavers and artisans to work at the bests levels to sharing in India’s shining in the textiles world of the globe and assured that the present government has been committed to support all endeavouring to uplift India’ s textiles. ‘The 3 day mega event of Indian textiles will be conducted from 30th June to 2nd July,2017 shall definitely give the states’ emerging textiles entrepreneurs, farms and exporters opportunities for marketing and trading textiles products by fulfilling orders of the established international and national buyers” said Mrs K. Indira Devi, chairman of the Apex Society (AWAS) Manipur, who is participating in the mega textiles event. Almost all the Chief Ministers and Industry Ministers of Indian states are also joining the mega event to discuss about the ways to uphold India’s textiles industries. Directorate of Handlooms and Textiles, Manipur under the directives of Th. Biswajit Minister, Commerce and Industries , Manipur is sponsoring about 30 textiles entrepreneurs from the Manipur state to join the the India’s ever biggest textiles event .
