DGP of Manipur L.M. Khoute today inaugurated the Manipur Police Dog Squad at Lamphel, opposite Officer’s mess, 86th BN CRPF. At present, the dog squad consists of 4 Belgian Malinois of which 2 will be used for detection of explosives and other 2 for detection of illicit drugs and narcotic substances. Besides, there are 2 trained Lab dogs with Manipur Police Dog Squad that have been providing valuable K-9 services.

Following the inauguration of the Police Dog Squad, Manipur Police will now be in a better position to fight drug menace and handle internal security challenges, police source said.
