Imphal, Nov 11: Maoist Communist Party Manipur today said that the movement for protection of the Indigenous people of the state will be led by Sapamcha Kangleipal, president of Manipur Forward Youth front (MAFYF). The statement said that Kangleipal will self immolate in front of Kangla Western Gate on November 25.
Sapamcha Kangleipal was a youth activist who was arrested by State force for spear heading a movement against establishment of Special Police Officers (SPIO) at Heirok and some parts of Lilong. He was detain under NSA in the early part of 2008. However, he escapes from the custody in December of 2008. Since then he is declared as wanted by the government of Manipur.
The Moist Manipur said that the movement for protection of the indigenous people which will be intensified from November 18 will be led by Sapamcha Kangleipal.
The Maoist statement further said that as the president of India is visiting the state on November 21 to inaugurate the Sangai Festival, it would be relevant to intensify the movement for protection of the indigenous people from November 18 instead of November 11
The Maoist further said that no force can stop the movement for the protection of the indigenous people of the land. The outfit further added that external force or the government may explode bomb or intensify the ST movement or the territorial integrity issue to divert the peoples’ movement. It appealed people to stay alert from any such design.
