Manipur Information Commission issue show cause notice to BDO, Wangoi

Manipur Information Commission had issued show cause notice to the SPIO/BDO ofWangoi over failure to furnish information within the mandated period of 30 days.
The Information Commission took up the case after complainant Y. Faruquefile a complaint case to Manipur Information Commission.
The Commission asked the SPIO/BDO, Wangoi on why a penalty of Rs. 250 per day and at the maximum of Rs. 25,000 should not be imposed against him/her for failure to provide the information to the RTI applicant. The Commission also directed the SPIO to reply the show cause notice before next hearing which is scheduled on 28 January 2022.
During the hearing , held on 30 December 2021 the complainant submitted that he has not received the information till date. The SPIO was absent during the hearing conducted through video conference.
