The Governor of Manipur, Anusuiya Uikey, paid a visit to Churachandpur district on Wednesday and addressed a gathering, assuring them of the Central government’s full support.
The governor stated that she is aware of the suffering of the people of Churachandpur district and asked that necessary measures be taken for all those who have been affected by the violence that began on May 3.
Several people were displaced as a result of the May 3 violence, and the governor told them that the government would compensate those who lost family members or suffered property damage.
“I am aware of all of your problems and am sad that you are all going through such a difficult time.” I have been communicating with the Centre and the President of India about your condition for the past six months. I have discussed all of your demands with the Central Government, and they are currently working on them as well. “I am confident that all of your problems will be resolved in a short period of time,” remarked the governor.
The governor also told the people of Churachandpur that she would do everything in her power to bring peace to Manipur and to ensure the welfare and well-being of all people.
