Imphal, Jan 3:
The Governor of Manipur has issued an order stating that the sirens used in ambulance vehicles and other agencies should not resemble those used by police and law enforcement agencies in terms of type and sound.
The directive aims to prevent any confusion that may arise due to the similarity of sirens between different agencies.
The order states, “Considering the prevailing law and order situation of the State and for the effective maintenance of law and order, the State Government recognizes the issues that arise from the use of sirens with similar sounds by both ambulance and police/law enforcing agencies. This creates a lot of confusion and panic among the general public. In light of the above and the sensitive nature of using the same sirens for different authorities, the Governor of Manipur orders that all sirens fitted in ambulance vehicles and other agencies, excluding police and law enforcing agencies, should not be similar in type and sound to those used by the police and law enforcing agencies.”
