The Union Minister for Health and Science and Technology Dr Harsh Vardhan today informed the Manipur which have enough potential to move forward, can play an important role in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s make in India initiative.
This was announced by Union Health Minister while addressing the scientists and students of Institute of Bio resources and Sustainable Development (IBSD) campus at Takyelpat near Imphal this morning.
Minister who was arrived here on a two day visit to the state to oversee the development in the state. Soon after arriving at the Imphal International airport on Monday, Union Minister who also holds the Ministry of Earth Science portfolio drove straight to the Foundation for Environment & Economic Development Services (FEEDS) campus at Hengbung, 55km north of Imphal in Senapati district to inaugurate Vigyan Sadan, a science and technology centre.
The centre was set up to promote Science, Technology and Innovation to scale up development in the region.The Additional Secretary Department of Science & Technology Kh Raghumani Singh and ADM Senapati K Lakshmikanta Sharma also attended the inauguration function as President and Guest of Honour respectively.
FEEDS campus at Hengbung, a kuki community inhabited village also houses the Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) centre of the Senapati district since 2002 to extend agricultural technologies in the northern district.
After attending the science and technology centre, the visiting minister rushed back to Imphal to attend a reception function followed by an interaction session with the Bharatiya Janata Party state functionaries at its state unit office located at Keishampat Nityaipat chuthek in Imphal around 6 pm. Later Health minister had a meeting with the state Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh at the latter’s office.
