Imphal, April 3:

Manipur Archer’s Group donated a recurve bow to Takhellambam Changkhonbi, a standard 7 student hailing from Akham Mamang Leikai in Lamshang constituency. The donation was facilitated by MPSC archery coach L. Suni, who represented the Manipur Archer’s Group in this charitable endeavor.
Comprising 90 members involved in various capacities within the sport of archery, including senior and junior coaches, the Manipur Archer’s Group rallied together to support Changkhonbi. The recurve bow was donated through the collective contributions of these dedicated members.
Changkhonbi, expressing gratitude for the generous gesture, shared her poignant story with the media. She recounted the loss of her father, T Seileshwar, who served in the 7th Manipur Rifles battalion and tragically lost his life during the violence at Moreh while on duty. In her appeal to the government, Changkhonbi urged “swift resolution of violent conflict and called for peace to be restored in the region.”
T Anjali, the mother of Takhellambam Changkhonbi, also extended her appreciation for the support provided by the Archery group during their time of need. “The generosity of the Manipur Archer’s Group not only provided Changkhonbi with a valuable tool for pursuing her passion in archery but also offered solace and assistance to a family coping with loss and hardship,” she added.
