Manipur Advocates withdraw from being counsel for Prof. Kham Khan Suan Hausing

Three advocates of Manipur – S. Chittaranjan, Th. Zinggo and Ch. Victor has withdrawn from associating in conducting the case on behalf of Professor Kham Khan Suan Hausingat Manipur High Court.
The three learned counsels from Manipur had submitted an application for withdrawing from being counsel of the petitioner to the bench of Justice A Guneshwar Sharma of Manipur High Court as they are facing some personnel difficulties. The Manipur High Court in an order issued yesterday has allowed their prayer.
Prof. Kham Khan Suan Hausing of Hyderabad University is accused of several offences, including promoting enmity, making false declarations, outraging religious feelings while giving interview to various news portals in connection with the ongoing crisis in Manipur, and also his controversial enrolment to the voter list in Manipur. The charge against Kham Khan Suan Hausing was filed by one Manihar Moirangthem Singh, a member of Meitei Tribe Union.
Meanwhile large number of people yesterday thronged to the residence of Advocate S. Chittaranjan at his Singjamei Meisnam Leikai yesterday evening for taking the case of the Hyderabad Prof. The mob was however controlled by a police team who rushed to the site.
Talking to reporters at Manipur Press Club today afternoon S. Chittaranjan said that he along with his two colleagues accepted to take the case on the request of their senior Counsel Anand Grover. He said that they have no intention of hurting the sentiments of the people of Manipur as they too are Manipuri. He said that they have requested the Manipur High Court to permit them to withdraw from being counsel of Kham Khan Suan Hausing.
Following the order of the Manipur High Court, Counsel of the petitioner Kham Khan Suan Hausing, Anand Grover had submitted to the Manipur High Court that the matter may be listed on Friday so that some alternative arrangement can be made.
