Man electrocuted while repairing HT Power line

A 50-year-old man died due to electrocution while repairing a high-tension power line at Khurkhul Lamkhai in Imphal West district today morning.
According to reports, the deceased has been identified as Nongthonbam Lokendro, son of late Nongthonbam Sanajaoba and a resident of Kanto Sabal under Sekmai Police Station in Imphal West district.
The incident occurred at around 8 am while he was engaged in repairing the Khonghampat to Leimakhong high-tension power line at Khurkhul Lamkhai. During the repair work, the power supply was reportedly switched on before the completion of the work or without proper communication, leading to the electrocution.
Following the incident, the body was taken to Catholic Hospital at Koirengei under Heingang Police Station in Imphal East district.
Police sources said necessary procedures are being carried out and further details regarding the circumstances surrounding the incident are awaited.
