A man from Lamdeng Makha Leikai contributed his 80th blood donation as part of a blood donation-cum-tree plantation campaign conducted by Pioneer Club Lamdeng Makha Leikai and Lamdeng Apunba Naharol today. The donor, Khundrakpam Premjit, was recognized for his extensive history in blood donation, and the Lamdeng campaign marked his 80th time contributing his blood for blood donation programmes.
Premjit, who had been donating blood since 19 years old, spoke on the importance of blood donation drives and the need for healthy men and women to donate blood for a good cause. Premjit also spoke about being grateful in donating blood for a good cause, stating that blood donations are a big part in bringing peace and unity and a way of giving back to the environment.
The event also included a tree plantation drive as part of their theme “One mother, one tree” in connection with the 2024 Van Mahotsav week celebration and involved the plantation of avenue plantation trees as a part of the drive for beautification of the Imphal valley.
